If you follow this for Logic Express 8 (my only reference), do remember that 2 of your BCF faders and control"strip" apply to the 1/2 channel and also the master, effectively giving you 6 other channels to work with out of the box. I have 2 and found this out from a Pro recording friend who asked about in the community. There may be workarounds, but do bear this in mind for plug and go operation.
Kind regards, Matt

Hi guys, just bought a BCF2000 for my Mac and Logic 8 today. As it was pointed out, the manual is really crap, it got me nowhere. Thank god I found sites like this one to help me out. Cheers. So I've followed all the steps (tried this 6-7 times already) and something is not working here... I get the LC message in the BCF display (Logic Control) but when I go to AUDIO/MIDI Application the BCF2000 icon is all grey, meaning not active. Hmm... At least it's there right? Another weird thing is that my USB lights on the BCF are not lit up, which is weird because I'm only connected to my Mac via USB. Instead the MIDI A & B lights flash when I move a fader. It's as if it thinks I'm in MIDI mode but I'm not, I only want to control it via USB. Lastly, I don't see any BEHRINGER kind of name in my Logic >File>Preferences>Control Surfaces>Setup. Anybody has any ideas? I know this thing can work. Thanks in advance for anybody's help...

Peace from Montreal

Hi Bart,

Sorry I haven't tried this process out on 10.5 yet (no intel boxes in my studio yet, sadly). But I will revisit my process again just to be sure I have it perfect correct. There may be differences in our versions of Logic as well (I am using Express) but I doubt that's it.

I'll try and get some pictures as well. I know I had the exact problem you are describing when I first started (which is what inspired me to write this post in the first place).

Thanks for stopping by.
